Welcome to the 12th day of Soup!
This recipe is an American version of a typical soup you’d find in Tuscany, Italy. It was brought to the United States with Italian immigrants and they added what they could find once they got to the US, like the spicy (or not) sausage. The more recent addition of coconut milk is to keep up the creaminess without adding a lot of calories, but if you don’t have coconut milk, cows milk, or even cream is ok!
