Cheese is a yummy food made from milk – cows milk is most common for cheese making but other mammal’s milk has also been used to make cheese.

There are over 1800 types of cheese! How many types of cheese can you list of the top of your head? All those different types of cheeses can be broken down into 8 main varieties: processed, hard, semi-hard, semi-soft, soft and fresh, blue, pasta filata, and soft ripened. As you might guess, cheese has a lot of the same nutrients as milk. Some of these nutrients include calcium, protein, phosphorus, vitamin A, and zinc. Refer to the last blog post about milk to see the benefits of these nutrients!

Eating a piece of cheese by itself is delicious. Cheese is often paired with fruit or a slice of meat to serve as a snack or appetizer.
