As people always say “hummus where the heart is” – or something like that. Hummus is typically made with chickpeas but its always fun to try something different! Today’s recipe is hummus made with lentils.
I can only imagine that after the last blog post you’ve been dying for a recipe that uses lentils 😉 This recipe won’t let you down – it’s easy, delicious, and nutritious.
Start by gathering the ingredients. You’ll need red lentils, olive oil, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic, salt, and lemon juice.
Next you will want to cook the lentils. You can follow the instructions on the bag or refer to the recipe card below. Once they are cooked add them to a food processor with the rest of the ingredients. Blend ingredients till smooth.
Test the flavor before removing the hummus from the food processor. If the taste isn’t quite what you were looking for, add more of the flavor you like (lemon juice, garlic, etc.).
Transfer the blended ingredients into a serving dish and you’re finished! Could that have been any easier??
You can dip vegetables into your hummus or you could add it to a sandwich, burrito/wrap, or a salad. Can you think of any other tasty ways to enjoy your hummus?
