Tomato Mozzarella Sandwich

Now that we know all about mozzarella, lets try it out in a recipe! This is a tasty and easy recipe that also doesn’t take very long. Enjoy!!

Gather the ingredients. You’ll need mozzarella (any type will work), tomatoes, bread, olive oil, basil (I used dried basil but it would be good with fresh), salt, and pepper.


To start, heat olive oil on a skillet. Place bread and thin slices of mozzarella on the skillet. Add tomatoes, then sprinkle with basil, salt and pepper. Add two more thin slices of mozzarella.


Add the other slice of bread. Check to see if the bottom slice has turned golden brown, then flip the sandwich over. Place another pan on top of the sandwich and let it cook for about 3 minutes on medium-low heat.


The mozzarella won’t be completed melted but it will be warm and very soft when you bite into it. Yum!

  • Pesto
  • Spinach
  • A drizzle of balsamic vinegar on the tomatoes
  • Jalapeno – if you like spice 😉
  • Slice of ham or turkey
  • Be creative!
