This week we discussed apples and the many varieties. Today we get to try a little treat called Applesauce Bread.
You will need to start out with applesauce, sugar, vegetable oil, milk, 2 eggs, all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt
In a large bowl, combine applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs, and milk. Beat well.
Add in flours, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt. Stir until smooth.
Optional: Fold in 1 apple diced, or nuts for extra texture and flavor
Pour batter into a greased loaf pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until a butterknife comes out clean when you put in the middle.
Quick Tip: Put aluminum foil over the pan during the first 30 minutes, and remove for the last 30 minutes. This will help the bread cook evenly.
Happy Creating!
